چکیده

A dissimilar welded joint of Inconel 718 and 304L austenitic stainless steel was prepared using a combined procedure with the gas tungsten arc welding shielded metal processes by employing Ni-based fillers: ERNiCr-3 ENiCrFe-3. The joints were investigated for metallographic testing mechanical properties, relationship established between microstructure resultant properties. Microstructural observation revealed formation unmixed zone on SS side. weld showed that fully consisted Nb- Ti-rich carbide phases along inter-dendritic spaces. tensile test results at room temperature failure from which might be due to alloying element segregation However, 600 °C base strength % elongation value 377 MPa 24%, respectively. hardness plot average 236 ± 5 HV, higher than BM (204 4 HV) but lower IN718 (243 HV). impact toughness 109 J, significantly metals. poor evolution NbC phase

Evaluation of microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded copper / 316L stainless steel dissimilar metals

In the present research, friction stir welding (FSW) process was used for butt joining of pure copper plate to 316L stainless steel plate. Mechanical properties and microstructural characteristics of the joint were evaluated by microhardness and tensile tests as well as optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was found that microstructure of the weld nugget (WN) has fine grains where...

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of the Friction Welded Joint between X53CrMnNiN219 and X45CrSi93 Stainless Steel

Dissimilar metals friction welding of austenitic–martensitic stainless steels is commonly used in order to manufacture engine valves in the automobile industry. In this study, X53CrMnNiN219 (austenitic stainless steel) and X45CrSi93 (martensitic stainless steel) valve steel rods were welded by friction welding process. The welded joint was then heat treated at 760 0C for 60 min. Mechanical prop...
